Generally, the top of crutches should be about 2 to 3 finger widths from the armpit. The position of the wrist bar of crutches should be adjusted to the wrist level when the upper arm naturally drops. When using crutches for support, the elbow joint can be properly bent.

  • Preparation for using crutches

The correct starting position of crutches is that the bottom of crutches should be aligned with the toe of both feet, 15~20cm forward, and 15~20cm outward to the left and right, which is the starting point.

Walking on crutches needs to adjust the walking gait according to the load-bearing degree of the affected leg, which can be generally divided into non-load-bearing gait and load-bearing gait.
